01/01/2015 Happy New Year everyone! I am in the unfortunate position to be in a very very hot place with an upset stomach and can’t really enjoy it here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better when I start my PADI Open Water course! I’ll keep the update from Flores in Guatemala short.

Flores acts as a Gateway to the Maya ruins of Tikal, however I decided to not do any backtracking and see the ruins coming from the Border of Belize. Nevertheless, I spent a few days in Flores to see the city, which main part is located on an island and makes for some nice pictures. I can only recommend taking one of the lanchas for little money and hike to the Mirador (view point) on the other side of town, it’s really worth it!
