How to travel on a budget & save money on the road

Did you ever dream of traveling the world and have not done it because you think it is expensive?
Keep on reading then and find out how you can keep your travel costs low while traveling!

You don’t need to be rich to travel around the world. Do you have a bit of money in the bank, a positive attitude and an adventurous mind? Then you are only a few steps away from achieving your goal of traveling full time. I have done it for three years and want to share my tips on how to keep your travel costs low.

The first question you might ask is where to start? Having more cash saved up will leave you with more options. But there are still a lot of amazing countries that can also be explored on a very tight budget. Central america and especially South East Asia are good spots to start off. My favorite country in Asia was Myanmar and with just 2,84€ on average per day for all meals and drinks combined, it was extremely cheap as well!

Should you travel without any savings at all, look into a country with very low costs of living and earn some money first by doing a job that fits you best. Consider working in a bar or restaurant, a farm or private house as an Au pair and look into teaching English or other skills you have. If you have no idea where to go at all, I can highly recommend browsing through “Lonely Planet: A Year of Adventures“. It is an easy and quick read and gives you a couple of spots that are best for each month or even week of the year.

When it comes down to actually spending less money on the road, I came up with the following four topics that I would like to describe in detail on the next pages. Hopefully it will give you all the information you need and bare with my while I update the missing ones. Any questions are welcome in the comments, I will do my best to answer.
