Morocco will give you a good taste of the Arab culture with it’s vibrant markets, oriental cities and landscapes. I spent eight relaxing days in the country after three weeks of strenuous hiking in Greenland, using Airbnb for the first time and ending up in a great Moroccan riad in Marrakesh through it. Joined by my friend Reem, we explored Marrakesh, Tanger, Chefchaouen and Rabat together.

After some very exciting weeks climbing Kilimanjaro and cruising through the Serengeti, we now make our way to Zanzibar – the last stop in Africa before heading home via Dubai. Just like everyone else, we are here to relax at the beautiful beaches, drink cocktails and do some Kite surfing.

Travel time: October 2014 – July 2017
5 months ago, I decided to travel around the world from October on and now it’s time to provide some more information. The first flights are booked, most of my possessions sold or stored at my parent’s place and my estimated time on the road doubled to nearly 3 years! Check out this post to read about my first destinations and current status of my preparations. Read the rest of this entry »

I just got back from Iceland a few days ago and since I it will probably take me a long while until I can write a report about this amazing trip, I decided to at least upload some pictures so you can have a short look. There’s also a brief summary on what we’ve done in the week. Read the rest of this entry »

My trip to the eastern parts of Europe had certainly been a true backpacking trip, using a lot of buses and train connections between the 11 cities and experiencing all kinds of different Couchsurfing situations. The farther we traveled, the crazier it became – ultimately climaxing in Russia. I actually used this trip as an inspiration for my Huffington Post CS-article; feel free to check it out if you promise to come back here afterwards 😉

Travelling from 26/05/2014 to 15/06/2014

My decision to travel around the world for two years kept me pretty busy and excited in the last weeks, but eventually I also had to take care of the trips prior to that and especially this remote one is something to look out for: Greenland, the world’s largest Island. Check out what I’ve planned and see if you want to join me on the 165km long Arctic Circle Trail!

My next video is ready – this time it’s in English again and a short one too (11m). Check it out to learn everything about the Banana of the Latinos – the Plátano! You will also see and learn a bit about Bogota and Medellin, the two cities that kicked off my two months trip through South America.

The second stop in Colombia led us to Medellín, known to be one of the most dangerous cities in the world during the reigning period of famous drug lord Pablo Escobar. I was really keen on visiting the city after watching the TV Show Entourage, and it turned out to become one of my favorite places during the two months in South America.

Travel time: 2014, September – Beginning of 2016

Traveling has evolved into a passion for me in the past few years and even though I dedicate every single day of holiday from work into it, I am still only able to see tiny bits and pieces of what our planet has to offer. I want to see much more and go to faraway, adventurous and exotic places. This ain’t something I should do as a dad, so it’s time move soon and find a good way to manage the mammoth project! Check out this entry to find out more and share any advice you might have! Read the rest of this entry »

The video of my most recent Travel report about climbing the Barrhorn (3610m) is now done and I was able to stay just under 13 Minutes! The bad news is that I did not have the time to put subtitles in and there is a lot of German talking in the video. So please enjoy if you are either German, currently learning German or if you just want to see some motion pictures 🙂 Read the rest of this entry »
