
[06/07/2012] On our way back from Africa towards Frankfurt, we had the amazing idea to stop-over in Dubai for a couple of days. It was just when we landed that we suddenly realized why the city was so empty in July; it is simply put intensely hot and humid! [20/06/2017] I started my Australia trip in Darwin this June and was headed on a roadtrip to Lake Argyle’s amazing pool, El Questro Wilderness Park’s gorges & the Purnululu National Park to see the famous Bungle Bungle Mountain Range and it’s beehive shaped rocks. Unfortunately, my father Thomas passed away at the young age of 61 and I left the Philippines to attend his funeral last week. We will always remember him as a man with a great heart and hope he will find his final rest. My trip will end for now and after some months at home, I will start a new job in London again next year. In my next gear review, I will be talking about the first layers and hiking boots after reviewing the jackets in my last post. Especially for longer hikes, it is very helpful to have some good quality Merino gear for your first layers. I spent more time in Australia and New Zealand (nearly half a year combined), but now it is finally time to announce that I have just received the stamp of my 100th country! It happens to be the Philippines and I can’t wait to explore all the beautiful islands here in the next four weeks. My time in New Zealand is coming to an end and I will be headed towards Asia again! While my trip to China is basically just a long stopover, I have some more time to spend in Taiwan before finishing off South East Asia with a full month in the Philippines.
