Live #90, Puyehue, Chile

#111_puyehue26/04/2015 Volcan Calbuco remained calm and I was headed to Villa la Angostura in Argentina. The journey involved a lot of hitch hiking and walking through ash-covered landscapes after the eruption, providing a rather uncommon expierence.

My original plan was to take the only daily morning bus to Osorno in the morning, but I arrived 50 minutes late at the bus station due to a different time on the phone and was forced to (sucessfully) hitch hike instead. Making sure I would have enough food for a possible night somewhere along the route from Osorno onwards, I actually was able to get three more rides through a little village and the Puyehue National Park until I reached the border check post in the afternoon. I just had to walk about 15km out of the 250km distance in total and most of the road was covered in ash, showcasing interesting objects such as a half ash-covered bottle of coke. Villa la Angostura was basically covered in the remains of the volcano eruption and I was curious about the situation in the nearby mountains, eager to find out in the next morning!
