Video Collection

[29/05/2014] In the second part of my Greenland video series, I will take you to the incredibly stunning Ilulissat Icefjord, a beautiful bay full of icebergs and also the location of my all time favorite campsite! Heading up even further north on a boat, we also got very close to Eqi Glacier and witnessed some calving icebergs.

Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland – Video

The Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland is an amazing place to see the Icebergs during midnight sun. Come here in May, and the sun will not set all day long! After finishing our hike to the Russell’s glacier, Tim and I jumped into a small propeller machine from Air Greenland and flew up north to the lovely village of Iluissat. Surrounded by a huge field of icebergs, this place will leave everyone speechless and we even managed to pitch our tents on to a tiny patch of wet bush on a slope, overlooking the ice below us. We have also made two trips on a boat in those days.

One was a midnight cruise through the icebergs and a longer one took us all the way up north to the Eqi glacier, a massive one that constantly bursts off small ice bergs. Both absolutely amazing experiences and I hope this small video can do it a bit justice 🙂 I trimmed the video down to 14 minutes and will work on the third and final part next, hiking the 170km long Arctic Circle Trail from Sisimiut to Kangerlussuaq.
