📅 July 16th, 2021 ▶️ The last part of PCT California Section J on the Pacific Crest Trail towards Echo Lake in South Lake Tahoe leads me through Carson Pass. After some trail magic in the Carson Pass Information Center, I get to see my second bear! Much bigger and much further away this time. The trail leads me through beautiful lakes and forest landscapes before arriving at South Lake Tahoe to end Section J. I decide to skip ahead due to my limited time and the ever increasing wild fire activities. On my way to Reno, the fires get really bad and I am stuck in the tiny village of Susanville with a yellow sky and ash falling down from the sky from the Dixie Fire. I eventually make it to Klamath Falls and have to change my plans once again..
