Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 6

pacific crest trail

📅 June 22th, 2021 ▶️ I always wanted to have a wild bear encounter while hiking deep in the nature. No better place for that to happen than on the PCT California Section H in the Kings Canyon National Park, covering the most remote part of the Sierra Neva Mountain range along the Pacific Crest Trail / John Muir Trail! While being forced to rest up due to a foot injury on Day 15, the sun wakes me up mid day and a bear is walking by and then towards me to just 4-5m distance. An absolutely breath taking moment and my highlight on the PCT so far! I am also interviewing thru hiker ACDC and am climbing over three mountain passes in this video: Kearsarge Pass, Glenn Pass and Pinchot Pass – all of them offering majestic mountain views.

Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 5

Pacific Crest Trail

📅 June 16th, 2021 ▶️ With the arrival in Crabtree Meadows, the Pacific Crest Trail is now joining forces with the John Muir Trail, covering 211 miles (340 km) of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Sadly I do not get to climb Mount Whitney, but with Forester Pass at 13,153 ft (4,009 m), we are climbing up to the highest point of the PCT. Just before that, I run into ultra marathon runner Timothy Olson, trying to beat the fastest known time of 52 days before making it up to Kearsarge Pass at 11,709 feet (3,569 m) on my way to Bishop town for a re-supply and to finally get my first Covid-19 vaccination!

Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 4

pacific crest trail

📅 June 13th, 2021 ▶️ The second part of the PCT California Section G from Kennedy Meadows to Crabtree Meadows has been nothing short of amazing! You will see trail angels, wild life, a lucky capture of a low-flying fighter jet, the amazing Chicken Spring Lake and a most amazing sunset sky over Mount Whitney at the very end! My favorite video so far, and it will only get better from here as I get deeper into the Sierra and all the beautiful mountain passes… 🙂

Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 3

pacific crest trail

📅 June 9th, 2021 ▶️ With my foot rested during my off-hiking time in Lake Isabella, I went back to Walker Pass to start California Section G of the Pacific Crest Trail towards Crabtree Meadow. The 115 miles long section passes through one of the most famous spots along the PCT: Kennedy Meadows, marking the end of the desert and beginning of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range! I enjoyed the food in both Grumpy Bears Retreat and the General Store, had a guitar jam session and even sat down for a quick chat with Susi, the owner of the General Store.

Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 2

pacific crest trail

📅 June 3rd, 2021 ▶️ The second part of California Section F on my Pacific Crest Trail adventure finishes up my journey towards Walker Pass and Lake Isabella, which would be my first chance to rest the hurting foot. Before reaching the oasis with a pool, I had to go through some more suffering with the intense heat in the Mojave desert. My next video from my PCT 2021 hike will follow in about a week and will continue the story from Walker Pass towards Kennedy Meadows!

Heading North – A Pacific Crest Trail Story – Episode 1

pacific crest trail

📅 May 31st, 2021 ▶️ Heading North is my new live documentary video series on hiking the 2,653 mi (4,270 km) long Pacific Crest Trail in California, Oregon and Washington in the USA in 2021. Due to the fact that I am currently not able to receive a US Visa, I can only spend 2 1/2 months on the PCT and will try to hike as much as possible. I started off at Tehachapi Pass at PCT mile 567 to experience some of the desert part of the Pacific Crest Trail before making my way into the Sierra Nevada Mountain range. This first episode is all about my struggle in the heat after packing way too much food in my pack, resulting in my PCT trail name “HeavyPack” 🙃 Hopefully you like the video, I plan to release one video each week!

LAS POZAS Surrealist Garden 🌿 in XILITLA and exploring the SALITRE CAVE (Mexico Travel 2021)

xilitla

📅 May 4th, 2021 ▶️ The next amazing mountain village on my path was Xilitla in San Luis Potosi State. It is famous for Edward James’ Las Pozas Surrealist Garden, which sadly had been a bit disappointing for me and I will explain to you why in this video. Next to the gardens, I also explored Salitre Cave full of green parrots! 🙂 Let me know what you think about Las Pozas in the comments if you have visited Mexico in 2021 as well.

tamul waterfall

📅 May 2nd, 2021 ▶️ In this episode of my Mexico 2021 trip, I am taking you on my hitch hiking journey to the incredible Tamul Waterfalls in the Huasteca Potosina area of San Luis Potosi state. Unfortunately, they have been dry and as I found out later, it will stay that way because the water was cut off from the river and it is not only related to the big draughts in the country. The video is also about the unexpected events you can expierence while hitch hiking. From being invited to a Cabin in the woods near Rio Verde to delivering flowers and riding pick up trucks, if you like hitch hiking you should check it out!

JOYA HONDA meteorite crater hike and overnight camp ⛰️ SAN LUIS POTOSI (Mexico 2021)

JOYA HONDA

📅 May 1st, 2021 ▶️ I had an excelent time hiking the meteorite crater Joya Honda (Cráter la Joya Honda), situated less than an hour ago from San Luis Potosi. After enjoying the sunset togehter with my Couchsurfing friends from city, I spent the night completely alone on the 800m wide and 200m deep crater. Seeing a clear night sky and all the starshas been incredible after all the cities in the last week and I even had the time to walk the entire rim for around 5,5km! Hope you like the video 😄

GUANAJUATO City in 2021 🦴 Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato, Beautiful streets & Hiking Trails

guanajuato

📅 April 28th, 2021 ▶️ I can’t wait to share this video about Guanajuato City with you guys, my absolute favorite of all the cities I have seen in my time here in Central Mexico! It offers so many beautiful streets and buildings to stare at, great hiking trails in the nearby mountains and the incredibly bizzare Musuem of the Mummies! I could not help but extent my time there and stay two full days. I did a lot of Hyperlapses again and would be really curious to hear from you in the comments if you want to keep seeing them or if it is perhaps a bit too much? Muchas gracias, Amigos! 😄
